'Battleship' Review

'Les Miserables' Teaser

Okay, so I saw the 25th anniversary stage version in movie theaters about two years ago and loved it.  At the end of the film, it said that a movie version was in the works.  I knew that Hugh Jackman would be heavily courted for this flick, as well as any other actor with any singing/acting capacity.  I wasn't too keen on Anne Hathaway joining this production (much the same as my feelings on her joining The Dark Knight Rises), but I'm pretty much sold now.  I really hope this film gets it right, even though the whole romanticism of the French Revolution is a farce.  Mine eyes have been opened after reading Ann Coulter's brilliant Demonic.  Still, the movie looks like it has grand potential.

'The Great Gatsby' Trailer

So, not to long ago, I finished reading this book.  In a word: overrated.  I only read it because I heard that Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge) was making this film.  I'm not a huge fan of Leonardo DiCaprio or Tobey Maguire, but the film also features capable actors like Carey Mulligan and Joel Edgerton, as well as an almost unrecognizable Isla Fisher.  I have low expectations, but the movie has to be better than the book.

'The Dark Knight Rises' Trailer #3

As if this week wasn't going to override my nerd circuits, then this hits the web (and assumedly theaters in front of Marvel's The Avengers on Friday).

Still not 100% sold on Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, but I'll give Christopher Nolan the benefit of the doubt.
